Did you know that it is illegal to drive slow in the fast lane in some states including California and Texas? There is nothing more annoying than being stuck in the #1 lane behind a car that won't yield or move over when they are legally supposed to yield to faster traffic. It boggles my mind that people find it acceptable to drive 45 mph (when there is no one ahead of them) on the 405 freeway. There is nothing wrong with driving slower (within reason) but it is not advisable to hold up the freeway and back it up for everyone else.
Fact of the matter is that slow drivers in the fast lane are most likely impeding the flow of traffic resulting in the freeway being even more congested then it already is. It is only courteous to move over if you someone who wishes to go faster approaching. There is nothing wrong with driving slower but the fast lane is not the right place to do so.
